This is a snapshot of how I want my life to feel:

You wake up to the gentle glow of vintage moonbeam clock, in a bed of soft, white cotton sheets and a pale, creamy yellow blanket (the kind with satin trim)...

Kitties sleep curled in warm little heaps on the bed with you, and next to you is a handsome man who regularly rubs your feet. You slide out of your downy nest and slide into your robe, cotton and ruffly and cabbage rose floral, and imported from France last Christmas by your Mister. You pull back the curtain to see either the crisp morning sunshine streaming in or a cool rain thumping the glass. You pad quietly into the kitchen and fill the kettle with fresh water, put it on the stove, and go to wake your daughter. She giggles as you kiss her and nudge her out of bed. The kettle whistles lightly and several small beings parade past you into the kitchen. One larger being lumbers into the loo, yawning loudly. You fill two cups with hot water, for tea, and the French press for the mister.

Breakfast is simple, wholesome. Waffles with berries. Scones with a little crème fraîche. Pancakes with cherry jam. Whole wheat toast with peanut butter and sunflower seeds. Oatmeal with brown sugar or honey. Granola and Greek yogurt. French style eggs. Bran muffin with carrot, raisins and walnuts. You can make a lot of things ahead of time. It saves money *and* feels luxurious. This is a great source of inspiration. You turn on the radio (college radio or NPR) and set plates of food down in front of your family. Fresh coffee for the Mister, Kids Cuppa for Enid, Earl Gray with lavender and cream for you. After eating breakfast, you'd get ready for your day ahead, in your room, where you have a whole corner stockpiled with pretty perfumes, hair baubles, makeup brushes in a vintage tea tin, and drawers full of makeup and creams.
